Weltmeister S5 LMMH Double Chamber

Original price was: $2,200.00.Current price is: $2,000.00.

This is a professional concert accordion, Weltmeister S5 Double Chamber model, made in the 1970s in Eastern Germany. Weltmeister produced the following tone chamber models: Supita, S4, S5, Cantus IV, and Cantus V. These instruments are popular and respected in Europe. Many excellent Russian, German, Polish, and Balkan musicians prefer these accordions to the Italian instruments for the deeper bassoon and clarinet sound and the lower and robust bass sound. If you have played these models then you know the special “thick” rich tone with spectacular depth and power.

This particular accordion has been professionally overhauled:
– Keyboard rebuilt, each spring adjusted for uniform action
– Tuned to 442 Hz. Excellent reeds and expert tuning go a long way to bring the best in any accordion!

  • Professional quality hand-finished reeds
  • 5 treble sets of reeds – LMMMH with both concert and musette tuning (M2 set at -8 cents and M3 set at +24 cents). This tuning is very similar to the classic Morino V tuning.
  • 5 sets of bass reeds
  • Double Tone Chamber (LM1)
  • 19 “ professional keyboard, serviced in September 2015
  • 13 treble switches: Musette 1 (M1M2H), Violin 1 (M1M2), Flute (M2), Clarinet (M1), Oboe (M1H),  Violin 2 (M2M3), Master (LMMMH), Musette 2 (MMM), Harmonium (LM1H), Bandonion (LM1), Organ (LH), Bassoon (L), and Piccolo (H) . The switches are ordered in a very practical way. The first two switches highlighted in blue produce a very mild tremolo (swing tuning). The middle three switches highlighted in red produce a rich musette sound German/French). The remaining switches have concert tuning (no tremolo). The accordion can cover a vast range of music styles, suitable for any repertoire.
  • 120 bass – 5 bass registers – low F – deep resonant sound.
  • Very clean and air-tight bellows
  • Excellent compression (like on a new accordion)
  • Good shoulder and bass straps
  • Original hard-shell case with exterior wear, but clean and structurally solid
  • 27.6 lb – lighter than many 4-reed tone chamber accordions

The keyboard was professionally serviced in September 2015. The key travel was optimized. Each individual
spring was calibrated for uniform keyboard action. The key valves are made of natural white felt and leather and
provide excellent compression and silent action. You will not find a better Weltmeister keyboard!

Looking inside the S5 you can see the solid wood reed blocks, each made of a single log. The reed valves
consist of leather and Mylar. The German companies Weltmeister and Hohner used these valves for many decades.
Recently many Italian manufacturers implemented them
